He kept pressure on the logging company to change its plans and allow Luna and the surrounding grove to live. However, the logging company tried to starve her out or drive her away by hiring security guards to harass her and ensure her support team could not deliver supplies. Despite the challenges, Hill persevered, and her efforts helped raise awareness of the importance of preserving the redwoods.


         As time passed, Hill began to attract more attention from the media and the public, and her cause gained support. People from all over the world wrote to her and sent her supplies, and a ground-level protest camp was established nearby. Hill became a symbol of the fight to save the redwoods and the environment as a whole.


        After more than 700 days in Luna, Hill finally descended from the tree on December 18, 1999. This was when an agreement was reached to protect Luna and the surrounding area from logging. Hill's act of civil disobedience had drawn attention to clearcutting in California and helped to preserve one of the last remaining old-growth redwood groves.
